F-CRIN (French Clinical Research Infrastructure Network) announces the selection of ForceXpert as a new support platform within its national infrastructure. This integration follows the call for expressions of interest launched last March, aimed at strengthening the deployment of European and international trials, particularly with our partner ECRIN.
Established in 2012, F-CRIN (French Clinical Research Infrastructure Network) is a national platform dedicated to advancing French clinical research. Its mission is to bring together stakeholders in clinical research to strengthen the competitiveness and international appeal of French research, develop the expertise of professionals by pooling know-how, resources, and capabilities, and thereby accelerate the adoption of new practices and the development of new therapeutic solutions.
Today, F-CRIN is based on a federative model structured around 28 components: 26 thematic clinical research networks, a cutting-edge expertise platform for implementing major national or international projects, and a national coordination unit—the infrastructure’s headquarters—located in Toulouse, France. F-CRIN also serves as the French interface for the European Clinical Research Network (ECRIN) to promote the participation of French teams and centers in European clinical trials.
New expertise to meet new challenges
As the French component of the ERIC ECRIN (European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network), F-CRIN is called upon to conduct foreign-sponsored clinical trials in France. These clinical trials involve numerous centers, span multiple countries, and must comply with national regulatory, monitoring, and pharmacovigilance requirements related to local sponsorship delegation.
To address these new challenges and meet the needs of its research and clinical investigation networks, F-CRIN continues to strengthen its expertise by integrating, following a call for expressions of interest, the platform ForceXpert, supported by the FORCE Foundation, a nonprofit clinical research organization recognized as being of public benefit.
Specializing in operational support for clinical trials, ForceXpert, as an Academic Research Organization (ARO), provides academic and industrial sponsors with the expertise needed to conduct trials on drugs, medical devices, and in vitro diagnostic devices. The platform does not act as a sponsor but supports sponsors at every stage of their project, from preparation to implementation, through expertise in project management, monitoring, regulatory affairs, and pharmacovigilance.
Drawing on its solid experience and service offerings for hospital sponsors, academic and industrial sponsors, and projects funded by national and European programs, it supports clinical trials of all sizes, including large international multicenter trials.
By joining F-CRIN as a support platform, ForceXpert complements F-CRIN’s range of expertise and strengthens support for multicenter trials, particularly those involving multiple European countries.
These new capabilities will enhance the complementary nature of the expertise brought together within F-CRIN, by fostering synergies between its research and clinical trial networks and its support platforms. They will also consolidate our long-standing partnership with ECRIN, with the aim of strengthening support for European clinical research projects, always for the benefit of patients today and tomorrow.
