As a time when the competitiveness of medical research is a major issue, F-CRIN is expanding its national digital platform for information on clinical research training: the Training Course Advisor.

Unique in France, this platform, which offers a complete overview of training courses in this field, is aimed at students and clinical research professionals wishing to acquire or update their skills, as well as trainers, faculties and training organisations wishing to be listed, and patients and volunteers.

The training courses are categorised into ten main areas: administrative and financial aspects, good clinical practice, national or international regulatory procedures, medical devices, health technologies (imaging techniques, etc.), management of clinical data and biological samples, general or disease-specific clinical investigation, quality management, risk management, methodology, pharmacy, the specific nature of multinational projects, and the development of research

The training courses are categorised into ten main areas: administrative and financial aspects, good clinical practice, national or international regulatory procedures, medical devices, health technologies (imaging techniques, etc.), management of clinical data and biological samples, general or disease-specific clinical investigation, quality management, risk management, methodology, pharmacy, the specific nature of multinational projects, and the development of research.

The search engine is practical, as ergonomics and ease of use were the development priorities for this new version. It also allows users to select training courses according to their language (English/French), or their format (initial or continuing education, face-to-face or distance learning) and interactive maps to locate them on the territory or internationally.

More than a simple training catalogue, the TCA offers participants the possibility of evaluating online the sessions they have attended, which constitutes a qualitative indicator. As a genuine platform for exchanging training supply and demand, participants can formalise their needs, particularly in the event that they do not find suitable training.

Set up in 2012, supported by INSERM with the financial backing of the ANR, the Ministry of Health, university hospitals, universities, foundations and private players, F-CRIN (French Clinical Research Infrastructure Network) is an organisation of excellence serving French clinical research. Its aim is to strengthen the competitiveness of French clinical research internationally, to identify and label research networks, to facilitate the setting up of academic or industrial clinical trials, and to develop the expertise of clinical research players by pooling know-how, objectives and resources. The organisation, which has a national coordination unit located in Toulouse, has already accredited and is currently federating 16 clinical investigation networks targeting diseases of general international interest (Parkinson's, Sepsis, Severe Asthma, Thrombosis, Obesity, Cardio-nephrology, Multiple Sclerosis, Retinal Diseases, Autoimmune diseases, Vaccinology, Cardiology, Stroke, Psychotic disorders, Atopic dermatitis, Childhood diseases, Charcot's disease), 3 networks of expertise and methodology (Rare Diseases, Medical Devices, Epidemiology) and a customised support platform offering all the services necessary for the conduct of clinical trials In total, F-CRIN represents a strike force of more than 1400 clinical research professionals.
